Mountain Light's Teams
do the day-to-day work of the Church and report monthly to the Board.

-Members of the Leadership Development Team are elected and charged to connect the lines between members' talents and the Church's needs. Its members are: Geraldine Barker (Lead) and Carol Johnson.

 
Other Teams are comprised of members who feel the call to serve or are recruited by Leadership Development.

-The Internet Team oversees the website, the newsletter, and the online discussion group and the church's database. Its members are: Geraldine Barker, Shirley Center and David Johnson. Gary Kaupman is the Lead.

The Fellowship and Community Building team fosters a sense of community in the congregation through events, affinity groups, and other ways of being together that support the building of a caring community. Carol Johnson is it's Lead.

The Finance Team oversees the finances and the financial records of the church, does analyses and advises the board and generally exercises stewardship over the church's financial resources. Its members are David Center (Lead) Geri Zimmerman and Gary Kaupman.

The Member Support Team is the lay version of pastoral care. It provides care for members of the congregation who are grieving a loss, suffering an illness, or are in some difficult circumstances. Its members are Louise Sweat (Lead) and Richard Wilson,

The Publicity Team is responsible for building a positive image of MLUUC in the community through news releases to local media, public announcements about our programs, dissemination of information at local events, paid advertising, church signs and any other appropriate means of interfacing with the public. Carol Johnson is its Lead.

The Sunday Services Team is responsible for creating the worship experience on Sunday morning. It schedules speakers, trains and schedules lay leaders for services, provides for children attending the service, provides music for the service, arranges the physical space for the service, and extends the hospitality, including greetings and refreshments, to members and visitors prior to the Sunday service. Its member are: Carol Johnson (Lead), Myra Kibler, David Center and

The Unlimited Potential Team is responsible for interacting with other small congregations in the Mid-South District of the UUA. Geraldine Barker, Richard Wilson and Myra Kibler are its members.

The Welcoming Team is the "Face at the Door" at Sunday Services paying particular attention to visitors by listening to what brought them to MLUUC and communicating with them about the denomination and the congregation. It also maintains the member database and materials such as brochures and name tags, and coordinates New UU classes and joining ceremonies with the Sunday Service Team. Its members are Gerry Barker (Lead), Judy Fargo, Louise Sweat and Gary Kaupman.
