Board Meeting September 12, 2016

The meeting was called to order at 1:05 pm by President Gayle Wood. Present were Gayle, Secretary Tom Norris, Directors-at-Large Ann Low and Ed Wolpert, Communications Coordinator Kasey Castleberry and Newsletter Editor Geraldine Barker. Treasurer Terry Woehr was absent due to illness.

Minutes of the August Meeting were approved.

Team Reports

Membership: Linda Kelly and Kasey Castleberry
Total attendance for the month of August was 210, an average of 52.5. Core attendance was 124, an average of 31. Both the figures were increased by attendance at Mike Davis's memorial at which there were 122 total attendees, 42 regular attendees and 80 guests. Detailed report is attached.

Social Justice: Helen Greene
Boys and Girls Club is the recipient of donations for September. Gayle suggested that a Gift Card from WalMart is a good item that can be converted to whatever is needed.

Sunday Services: Bruce Wood
Speakers have been booked through November. Detailed list is attached.Ann asked about having another Moravian Love Feast this Winter. After discussion, the matter was tabled for further consideration.

R.E.: Kathy Romanick and Aimee Cribbs
September will have a single R.E. session on September 18 due Mike Davis on the second Sunday. There will be a youth water ceremony on the 18th prior to the regular R.E. class. Aimee and Kathy said this will be the last year they are willing to be totally in charge of R.E. They will continue to be involved and supportive but not in charge.

Communications: Kasey Castleberry
Geraldine has created an analog calendar which will be appended to the newsletter. Website and social media are active. Detailed report is attached.

Treasurer's Report:
August and September consolidated report will be in October Board Minutes.

Fellowship Baking: Lorraine Jones
Schedule is complete through 2016 and is attached.

Yukon Road Cleanup: Adrienne Corticelli
Next Cleanup is October 1. Meet at Ingles parking lot at 9:00 am.

OLD BUSINESS

Tails Creek Building: Ann Low
Ann talked with Bill Dave who had contacted Collier International and was informed there was no new information and that frequently no information is released prior to listing the property.

Pet Policy: Kasey Castleberry
Kasey circulated a paper that could be used as a handout to people bringing pets and/or to get a signed commitment regarding their responsibility for their pet. He will make revisions discussed, circulate it to the Board, and then post the proposed handout on the website.

NEW BUSINESS

MOTION
Gayle moved that MLUUC purchase two new hymnals, one in memory of Carol Johnson and another of Mike Davis. Motion was seconded by Ed several and passed.

Propane Tank: Tom reported the propane tank is at 60% of capacity and will last through Winter's cold weather.

Receiving Fund for donated investments: Gayle and Terry met with Edward Jones Investment in Ellijay and the company is in the process of setting up an account for receiving stocks, bonds, property etc.

Testimonials for the website: Gayle emphasized that we need testimonials for the website. All board members should especially enter testimonials.
